Institutional Data Collection on GEO-Spatial Information in Bangladesh

As part of this initiative, DSGS has conducted a questionnaire survey and analysis to undertake an institutional capacity assessment study. The aim of the study is to gather data and information about the institutional capacity of agencies working in promoting the use of geo-spatial applications to improve decision-making processes in the areas of agriculture and food security, water resources and hydro-meteorological hazards, land cover land use change ecosystems, and weather and climate in Bangladesh to design effective and need-based programs.

The study will assess the current level of capacity, identify gaps and limitations, and provide ecommendations for improvement. The results of the study will be used to design programs that address the specific needs and requirements of the agencies, and improve the effectiveness of their decisionmaking processes.


Services provided

  •   Geodetic Survey of total Boundary of the Project area by RTK GPS.
  •    Geodetic Survey of BNG apartment Boundary by RTK GPS.
  •    Establishment of 20 no’s of Temporary Bench Mark (TBM) from Survey of Bangladesh (SOB) pillar throughout the individual project area by Levelling Instrument.
  •    Digital Elevation Model (DEM) will be prepared in the surveyed area. Spot height by Total Station in 4 different zones in surveyed area. Data, Drawing, preparation.
