Disaster management Specialist

Md. Shah Alam pursuing his PhD in Education at IUKL, Malaysia and holds an MSc. in Disaster Management a Bachelor's degree in English from University of Dhaka.

Alongside his academic pursuits, he works for DSGS on several disaster management projects. He has expertise in developing and implementing disaster management plans, identifying risks and vulnerabilities, and collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

He has also developed training programs and awareness campaigns to enhance the capacity of communities and officials in disaster management and identified and implemented risk reduction and mitigation measures, such as early warning systems and flood control structures.

Additionally, he has contributed to monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of disaster management interventions and advocating for disaster risk reduction and mitigation measures.

Before his current position, Mr. Alam served as an Associate Professor at the University of Development Alternative, part-time teacher for the English Education Course in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Dhaka.

He also worked as a visiting faculty member at the Department of Humanity at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and at the Press Institute of Dhaka.
