Md. Torikul Islam, a Master's degree holder in Geography and Environmental Studies, is a GIS expert with over twenty- years of experience in organizing and managing spatial and non-spatial information, building geo databases in GIS environments, and performing network analysis.
He has worked with reputable organizations such as DSGS, Eptisa, RMRC (BWDB), CEGIS, EGIS, and PGCB.
Additionally, he is an experienced GIS and Remote Sensing Trainer and has a solid understanding of GPS and RTK/Total Station data processing, spatial analysis, 3D analysis, network analysis, traffic, geotechnical, topographical, hydro-morphological, drainage, archeological, environmental, and social impacts.
He is also knowledgeable in satellite image processing, rectification and classification, GIS and RS database management, and map preparation for urban and regional planning and city design.
Throughout his career, he has served as an expert in various projects such as the GIS-Based Distribution Network System and the preparation of a 20-year distribution system master plan for DPDC, Dhaka, the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (MRT Line 1), the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), the Dhaka PBS-4 GIS Survey, the Payra-Kuakata Development Project, and the Drinking Water Supply Development Project.
